A two-year old <so you know this number has grown> study showed four times as many consumers preferred to watch a video about a product over reading about it. While only 14% of those surveyed could remember the last display ad they saw, 80% could recall a previous video ad.
IT GRABS: It’s simple- sit back <often, you don ’t even have to click a play button these days> and watch. It’s an easy investment for the viewer. People have a short attention span these days. But they’re easily entertained if you can grab them.
IT CAPTURES: Video engages our senses like no other medium. Sight and sound create emotion… and foster a connection. And emotions are contagious! VIDEO enables brands to deliver specific messages that are highly targeted and relevant.
In fact, “The Brain Lady” Susan Weinschenk, Ph.D says the sound of a human voice speaking helps us comprehend content, and that we’re attracted to facial expressions, movement, and emotion!
IT SEARCHES: If you want to be found, offer video. Youtube is owned by Google. So, of course you’ll find Youtube videos in most search results. Go ahead, try it. Search… “How to… make slime” for example. ALL of the top 10 results are VIDEOS.
IT CONVEYS: There’s nothing like a face-to-face interaction. “We are a visual species who processes thousands of times more information visually by reading text or listening to something.” says CEO and co-founder of the video-platform Tout Michael Downing.A 2016 survey by the CMO Council showed 65% of people surveyed believe visual assets are core to how their brand story is communicated.
